Last week alone we have confirmed 15 programs to provide the Tjeko Live lessons in primary schools. Is this our biggest Tjeko Live week EVER..? Yeah it is!
The Education office of Jinja City put Tjeko in the school curriculum from the third week of the whole year in the Northern Division. At the same time, Njeru Municipality granted Tjeko permission to perform Tjeko live in schools. This is a great opportunity for us to prepare and inform schools in Njeru about the upcoming Fun Fair in November by the Tjeko Fun Village!
This term we will be teaching two Tjeko Live lessons at 25 schools in Jinja City Northern Division and Njeru municipal council. The goal for this quarter in schools is to introduce 1500 children and 50 caregivers to Tjeko’s creativity lessons!
Last week, lesson 1 has been introduced to 12 schools in Jinja northern division and 3 schools in Njeru municipality. Each lesson is attended by at least 200 pupils and 5 care takers.
This being a new activity, most schools have allowed Tjeko lessons to be carried out in few classes. However, after the lessons are carried out, most of the schools have been asking if the program can be extended to the rest of the classes.
At all the schools so far where the lessons have been introduced, the excitement is seen on the smiles of the children and their care takers.
Their active participation gives the lessons energy and excitement. The children are learning as they play and by the end of the activities, their joy is evident as they sing the Tjeko chant and ask when we shall be back for the next lesson!
