Unleashing Children’s Creativity with Tjeko Clubs

In 2021, Tjeko Clubs started as a way of meeting children where they are, right in their own communities. The idea is to create a safe and supportive environment where children can play, learn, and grow together.

One of the most exciting aspects of the Tjeko Clubs is the way we awaken children’s creativity. By using materials from their surroundings, the children are able to come up with all kinds of innovative ideas. Some use stones to cut fibers, while others use banana fibers to create ropes, balls, and dolls.

What’s amazing about this process is that each child is able to express their unique creativity in their own way. There’s no right or wrong answer, no set formula to follow. Instead, the children are encouraged to explore and experiment with the materials, letting their imagination guide them.

Once the children have created their masterpieces, they get to play with them and show them off to each other. This is a wonderful way for them to build confidence and self-esteem, as well as to learn from each other’s ideas and techniques.

What we find most rewarding about the Tjeko Clubs is seeing the genuine happiness on the children’s faces, hearing their infectious laughter, and feeling the uplifting spirit of creativity that permeates the group.
